The Canadair Regional Jet 1000, marketed as the CRJ1000, is the largest member of Bombardier's CRJ family. It is a stretched derivative of the CRJ900, accommodating up to 100 passengers in a single-class configuration, making it one of the largest regional jets ever produced.
The CRJ1000 was developed to meet demand for higher-capacity regional operations while retaining the efficiency and operating economics of the CRJ platform. It features a further-stretched fuselage compared to the CRJ900 and incorporates winglets as standard equipment to improve fuel efficiency.
The aircraft entered service in 2011 and attracted operators primarily in Europe and North Africa. Bombardier ceased production of the CRJ series as part of its divestiture of the commercial aviation business, with the type support and aftermarket services transferred to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
Notable operators
Air Nostrum and Air France (operated by HOP!) have been among the primary operators of the CRJ1000.
